About the Organization:
The National Security Cyber Section (NatSec Cyber) is responsible for leading the Department's efforts in investigating, prosecuting, and disrupting computer intrusions, attacks, and other malicious cyber activities that threaten national security. This includes working with various government agencies and partners, such as the FBI and US Intelligence Community, to use a range of tools and authorities to combat cyber threats. NatSec Cyber also plays a key role in managing the National Security Cyber Specialists Network, which consists of prosecutors with expertise in national security-related cyber investigations.
Job Description:
NatSec Cyber is seeking highly qualified law students for volunteer internship opportunities. Responsibilities include conducting legal research and analysis, assisting with drafting motions and pleadings, and supporting the team's efforts to disrupt cyber threats to national security. Internships are available for both part-time (16 hours/week minimum) and full-time (32 hours/week minimum) during the academic year. Remote externships are not available.
Qualifications:
This opportunity is open to all law students, joint degree students, and . students. Applicants must be . citizens and able to obtain and maintain a security clearance. Strong research, writing, and analytical skills are required. Prior interest or experience in national security, criminal litigation, and technology (such as internet, digital assets, or blockchain) is preferred. Courses in Criminal Procedure, Evidence, and Trial Practice are also beneficial. Interns cannot participate in another internship while interning with NatSec Cyber.
