Responsibilities:
• Provide legal advice on a wide range of corporate trust matters
• Conduct legal research and draft legal memoranda and opinions
• Analyze and interpret statutes, regulations, and court decisions
• Assist with transactional matters, including drafting and reviewing transaction documents
• Assist with client meetings and negotiations
• Work closely with senior attorneys and clients to develop and implement legal strategies
• Participate in training and development opportunities to enhance legal skills
Qualifications:
• Juris Doctor degree from an accredited law school
• Admitted to practice law in at least one state
• 1-2 years of experience in corporate, real estate, or commercial finance, securities, municipal finance, securitization, structured finance, or a combination of one or more of those areas preferred
• Excellent academic credentials
• Strong research, writing, and analytical skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Commitment to providing excellent client service
• Ability to handle multiple projects and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment

The Resident Attorney program at Nixon Peabody provides a unique opportunity for candidates with non-traditional backgrounds to develop their legal skills through a 12-month apprenticeship. This program also offers the opportunity for renewal or transition to a full-time attorney role after the first year.
The ideal candidate will have strong academic credentials, excellent communication skills, and a commitment to providing exceptional client service. Additionally, the candidate should be admitted to practice law in at least one state and have 1-2 years of experience in one or more of the aforementioned practice areas.
