Job Overview
We are seeking a Data Platforms Engineer to join our team and assist with the design and maintenance of our data environment. This is a remote position, but candidates must reside within one of the 10 states where we have a physical office. The Engineer will report to the Senior Data Engineering, Platforms, and Architecture Manager and will work alongside other teams such as Enterprise Applications, Web Applications/Data Analytics, Workflow Automation, and Infrastructure.
Responsibilities
Monitor systems performance and capacity and identify potential improvements or upgrades.
Ensure adequate security measures are in place for our data platforms.
Write and analyze queries and use various programming languages.
Design and implement end-to-end engineering solutions for business opportunities.
Build tools to scale and effectively monitor the data environment.
Install, deploy, and maintain data management tools.
Create automated procedures to ingest and process data from various systems.
Engineer and support data structures, including SQL databases.
Engineer and maintain ELT processes for loading data.
Use best-in-class tools to deliver modern data solutions.
Support application and web development by writing stored procedures and SQL queries/views.
Research data questions and identify root causes.
Performance tune queries and stored procedures to optimize databases and applications.
Identify and solve technical obstacles.
Keep up-to-date with new technologies and incorporate them into projects.
Collaborate with vendors to integrate systems and data.
Perform other responsibilities as assigned.
Work additional hours as needed to fulfill job requirements.
Requirements
5+ years of experience working with data platforms.
Associate degree or equivalent technical education (preferred).
Experience in a legal environment or professional services (preferred).
Experience with Microsoft Fabric (Lakehouse, Semantic Models, Pipelines, etc.) (preferred).
Experience with SQL database design and maintenance.
Experience with Transact-SQL.
Familiarity with IntApp Integration Builder and IIS(Boomi) (preferred).
Experience using and building SSIS packages.
Ability to develop SQL structures that support high volumes and scalability.
Ability to model and design modern data structures, SQL/NoSQL databases, and Cloud Data Warehouse.
Experience building transactional databases.
Experience with all versions of Windows.
Experience using and developing in Power BI.
Knowledgeable in best practices guidelines from Microsoft, VMware, and storage vendors.
Knowledgeable in Azure SQL cloud offerings.
Knowledgeable in database security.
Understanding of disaster recovery terminology and design.
Experience migrating SQL servers.
Unquestioned integrity and professionalism.
Strong communication skills (verbal and written).
Meticulous attention to detail and accuracy.
Ability to manage multiple tasks with effective organizational skills.
Proven problem-solving, critical thinking, and decision-making skills.
Working knowledge of the Microsoft Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams).
