Complex Professional Liability Claims Adjuster
The candidate will directly handle complex Directors and Officers, Fidelity Bonds, and Professional Liability claims. Evaluate coverage, assess risk transfer opportunities, analyze liability and damages, manage litigation, negotiate and ensure all files are appropriately reserved. Recognize exposures and ensure reserving is appropriate and timely. Evaluate coverage issues and risk transfer opportunities. Complete a thorough, independent investigation with an understanding and utilization of available resources to fill in any gaps in understanding, . internet, PACER, experts, etc. Manage litigation by proper selection, planning, budgeting and partnership with counsel. Exhibit strong negotiation skills. Effectively communicate exposures both internally and externally. Responsible for formulating proper resolution strategy to ensure best claim outcome. Position will require periodic travel to attend meditations, trials and/or other related meetings. Perform other duties as assigned. JD / CPCU / RPLU designations are preferred. Must have 3+ years of experience in the handling of professional liability claims. Proficient computer skills are required to navigate the paperless claim file system. Should have a high level of technical claim skills and legal knowledge and be a skillful negotiator.
