Job Description:
- Provide legal advice and representation to state agencies within the Health and Human Resources Secretariat
- Primary responsibility for representing the Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Services Office of Forensic Services and the Virginia Center for Behavioral Rehabilitation
- Represent the Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Services in federal litigation involving the Americans with Disabilities Act and other federal laws
- Offer legal advice on various issues including health and disability law, confidentiality and privacy laws, and administrative processes
- Serve as back-up for attorneys representing other state agencies as needed
Minimum Qualifications:

- Excellent analytical, research, and writing abilities
- Superior oral and written communication and litigation skills
Experience:
- 5 years of state and federal litigation experience preferred
