Amazon's Legal Department is seeking a talented corporate counsel with experience in commercial real estate to join their team. This role will specifically support Amazon Web Services (AWS), a leading player in the "cloud" computing and service industry. As part of the AWS legal team, the Corporate Counsel - Real Estate will play a crucial role in supporting the company's worldwide data center expansion through land acquisitions, leases, and serviced licenses. Key Responsibilities:

- Draft and negotiate a variety of real estate transactional documents such as leases, lease amendments, purchase and sale agreements, easements, development agreements, and co-ownership agreements.
- Provide legal counsel and contract interpretation to business team members on a daily basis.
- Structure, draft, and negotiate agreements and leases, manage outside counsel, and advise internal business clients.
- Develop, implement, and manage process improvements across the team.
- Resolve legal issues that arise in existing commercial relationships.
- Handle pre-litigation legal disputes and inquiries.

The successful candidate must have at least 5 years of legal experience and hold a Juris Doctor degree and membership in one state bar or equivalent. They should also have experience drafting and negotiating real estate transactional documents. Preferred qualifications include a mix of corporate law firm and in-house work experience, as well as the ability to manage multiple projects and meet aggressive deadlines.

Salary Information:

The base pay for this position ranges from $138,500/year in the lowest geographic market to $229,000/year in the highest geographic market. Pay is determined by factors such as location and job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company, and may also offer equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation as part of a total package.
