- Job title: Insurance Defense Trial Attorney
- Salary range: $100,000 - $173,000 per year
- Experience required: Minimum of 5 years as first chair in litigation
- Location: Houston, TX

Description:

- Represent Liberty Mutual and policyholders in complex civil litigation matters
- Manage entire legal process from investigation to trial prep and court proceedings
- Negotiate settlements as required
- Research applicable laws and develop legal strategies for all stages of litigation
- Establish and maintain relationships with claims representatives and clients
- Provide guidance and direction to junior attorneys, paralegals, and law clerks
- Collaborate with Home Office Legal
- Yearly incentive offered in addition to base salary

Qualifications:

Experience:

- Membership in the Texas Bar
- Appropriate special licenses to practice before boards or federal courts preferred
- Minimum of 5 years as first chair in litigation
- Experience in insurance defense strongly preferred

Skills:

- Ability to cultivate strong working relationships with internal and external partners
- Detail-oriented and analytical thinking
- Persuasive oral and written communication skills

Knowledge:

- Broad knowledge of insurance law
- Familiarity with latest developments in the practice of law and related fields
- Process-oriented mindset with ability to meet deadlines and stay organized
- Proficiency with technologies that facilitate remote work and reduce costs

Education:

- JD degree required
