- Completes legal research and writing and represents clients in administrative hearings and litigation
- Responsible for grant reporting initiatives and maintaining strong professional relationships with program partners
- Provides guidance to healthcare navigators/paralegals and works on other elder law matters

As a Healthcare/Elder Law Staff Attorney, you will focus on public benefits and health-related matters, working towards improving access to healthcare for low-income adults. You will also provide legal assistance to older adults, including helping families and individuals who have been denied, terminated, or had reduced benefits from programs such as Medicaid and food stamps (or SNAP). This is a hybrid position based in our Prince William office, with occasional evening and weekend commitments outside of regular business hours.
To be considered for this position, you must be licensed with the Virginia State Bar, have two years of practice in another state, be eligible for admission under the Legal Aid Counsel Rule (LAC Rule 1A:9), or be registered for the next Virginia State Bar exam. A commitment to social and racial justice, as well as public interest work, is required. Experience in community engagement and advocacy is strongly preferred, along with excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Interest in litigation and legal aid experience are also desirable. Multi-lingual skills (verbal and written) are a plus.
