The Law Firm Manatt, located in Chicago, is seeking a skilled Compensation Analyst to join their Accounting team. As a Compensation Analyst, you will play a crucial role in assisting with monthly and year-end compensation schedules for Attorneys and Consultants, providing valuable support to the firm's Compensation Committee and Business Leaders.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare financial worksheets for lawyers and consultants to assist with advancement, bonus, and base compensation decisions
- Evaluate financial performance against compensation benchmarks for supplemental and performance payments
- Review employment agreements for performance-based bonuses and calculate on a timely basis
- Budget and forecast compensation expenses for lawyers and consultants and provide variance analysis to Firm Management
- Maintain Equity Partner capital liquidation schedules for departed partners
- Conduct market analysis to ensure base compensation and bonus structure for consultants are in line with industry peers
- Collaborate with other Business Professionals to support ad hoc compensation requests and projects from Firm Management
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Accounting, Finance, or related field
- 1-2 years of experience, preferably in a law or professional services firm
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel
- Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Self-motivated and able to work with minimal supervision
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
The base annual pay range for this role is between $65,000-$72,000, with the final offer depending on skills, experience, and location. Manatt also offers a comprehensive benefits package for its employees.
