Overview:

The GCM Transaction Manager III at M&T Bank is responsible for negotiating and closing transaction deals for mid-tier and large-tier Global Capital Markets (GCM) clients. This role requires strong legal knowledge and experience in deal closing, corporate trust, and reading and interpreting legal documents. The successful candidate will be client-facing, acting as a centralized deal manager and liaising with internal operational and support groups.

Responsibilities:

- Negotiate and close transactions for clients, including serving as a trustee and coordinating deal structures
- Act as a client-facing centralized deal manager
- Attend conferences and assist with business development initiatives
- Serve as an internal liaison for support groups surrounding deal closings
- Address escalated client issues and ensure timely resolution
- Coach and mentor less experienced personnel
- Adhere to the Company's risk and regulatory standards and identify and escalate risk-related issues
- Promote diversity and reflect the M&T Bank brand
- Maintain internal control standards and address audit points and issues raised by external regulators

Scope of Responsibilities:

This position works mostly independently under limited management supervision.

Education and Experience:

- Bachelor's degree and a minimum of 5 years' related experience, or equivalent education and experience
- Master's degree in Business Administration (MBA) or Juris Doctor (JD) degree preferred
- Experience in GCM deal closing and corporate trust preferred
- Ability to read and interpret legal documents
- Strong legal background

Salary Information:
