Job Title: Associate General Counsel
Job Responsibilities:
- Draft, review, advise, and negotiate a broad range of provider network contracts, including those for hospitals, primary care, specialists, ancillary providers, and telehealth providers.
- Provide advice and assistance to the compliance department in drafting and responding to filings or inquiries from regulators such as the . Department of Health & Human Services Office for Civil Rights, Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services, California Department of Managed Health Care, and California Department of Health Care Services. Ensure compliance with statutory, regulatory, contractual, and other requirements.
- Conduct legal research and provide analysis on state and federal laws pertaining to health plans, medical groups, managed care, and provider contracting.
- Act independently to provide well-informed and timely legal advice on a variety of complex and sensitive healthcare matters.
- Monitor and research market and industry trends of interest to the organization in connection with its business activities. Anticipate changes impacting operations, notify management, and recommend preparatory actions.
- Work collaboratively with a broad range of stakeholders throughout the organization to develop and maintain strong relationships with business units and affiliates.
- Actively support the achievement of the organization's vision and goals.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Education and Experience Information:
- Law Degree from an ABA-accredited law school required.
- California Bar admission preferred.
- Minimum 8 years of relevant legal experience in a reputable law firm and/or established healthcare company legal department.
- Extensive experience in negotiating, drafting, and interpreting healthcare agreements.
- Expertise in providing managed care legal advice to health plans and/or providers.
- Knowledge of federal and state healthcare law related to managed care, Medicare Advantage, HIPAA, Fraud Waste and Abuse (., Stark, Anti-Kickback Statute).
- Strong organizational skills and ability to multitask.
- Ability to appropriately maintain confidentiality.
- Strong analytical and critical thinking skills required.
- Personal presence and professional demeanor needed to work with all levels of individuals throughout the organization.
- Ability to collaborate as a team player and to adapt to change, master new skills, and assume additional responsibilities as needed.
- Practical and business-oriented with sound judgment and the ability to work well in a fast-paced team environment. Able to balance competing priorities.

Salary Information:
- Base Pay Range: $177,500 to $284,000 annually
