Job Responsibilities:
- Efficiently organize and maintain case files to ensure seamless access and retrieval of information.
- Prepare necessary legal documents in a proficient and timely manner. This includes petitions, subpoenas, pre-trial submissions, exhibits, affidavits, findings, memos, briefs, appeals, supersedeas, or motions.
- Prepare and organize case files, binders, tabs, summaries, and other paper/electronic case materials to support client cases. This involves court entry of appearances, pleadings, filings, mediations, and other legal procedures.
- Oversee the timely and accurate ordering of records by legal assistants, ensuring all necessary documentation is obtained.
- Track and follow up on requests for information and the discovery process, and conduct legal research as needed to support case development.
Education and Experience Information:
- Preferred Requirements:
- Two (2) years of paralegal experience plus paralegal certification OR five (5) years of paralegal experience.
- Experience in Personal Injury areas of law.
- A paralegal degree or certificate is required unless substituted with an equivalent combination of training and relevant work experience.
Requirements:
- Ability to support the preparation of legal documents, contracts, amendments, and other related items with strict confidentiality.
- Capability to work in a fast-paced, high-energy, and team-oriented environment. Must be able to quickly take initiative to assimilate and apply new knowledge while producing high-quality work under pressure and within tight deadlines.
- Excellent interpersonal skills; able to develop relationships with coworkers, clients, and colleagues.
- Strong computer skills, including proficiency in MS Office applications and other software as required.
