Law Firm Seeking Experienced Director of Information Governance in Dallas, TX

The Law Firm is currently seeking a highly experienced Director of Information Governance to oversee the implementation and enforcement of information governance policies and procedures. In this role, you will work closely with IT and General Counsel to develop the IG strategic plan and ensure compliance with legal and regulatory requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement information governance policies and procedures
- Collaborate with IT and General Counsel to develop the IG strategic plan
- Provide direction to IG stakeholder functions
- Maintain a detailed inventory of all electronic information repositories
- Work with Litigation Support team for legal matter discovery collections
- Ensure proper handling of information assets in accordance with policies and regulations
- Conduct regular audits and assessments for improvement and adherence to IG standards
- Lead annual training and awareness sessions for employees
- Work with legal counsel for legal holds and discovery requests
- Evaluate hardware, software, and data life cycles
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Information Management, Information Technology, Legal Studies, or related field (JD preferred)
- Minimum of 8 years of experience in information governance or related fields
- Experience with document management systems (iManage experience a plus)
- Experience with Microsoft Purview
- Strong knowledge of data privacy laws, information security best practices, and records management principles
- Excellent communication skills, both oral and written
- Experience managing a team and working collaboratively with cross-functional teams
