This is a full-time position in a collaborative and team-oriented environment. The associate will work closely with senior attorneys to provide comprehensive legal services to high-net-worth individuals, families, and businesses.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide legal counsel and representation in estate planning, trust administration, and probate matters
- Draft, review, and finalize various estate planning documents
- Advise clients on estate tax strategies and asset protection
- Assist in the administration of estates and trusts
- Conduct legal research and stay updated on estate planning and tax law developments
- Collaborate with financial advisors, accountants, and other professionals to develop comprehensive estate plans
- Represent clients in court proceedings related to probate and trust administration
Qualifications:
- 4-6 years of experience as a trusts and estates attorney
- Strong experience in drafting estate planning documents and handling complex estate and trust administration
- Knowledge of estate, gift, and fiduciary income tax returns
- Familiarity with Probate Court proceedings for estates and trusts
- Excellent communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills
- . degree from an ABA-approved law school and active membership in good standing with the bar
- Admission to the Connecticut bar is required, and admission in New York and/or Massachusetts is preferred
