The Harris Beach law firm, ranked among the top in the country by The National Law Journal, is seeking a Senior Defense Litigation Associate with 6-10+ years of experience to join their General Liability team. This is a great opportunity for an experienced attorney to work with a variety of clients and industries, including education, energy, healthcare, and more.
Location: New York City, NY; Uniondale, NY; White Plains, NY; or Stamford, CT (Hybrid remote opportunity)
Job Title: Senior Defense Litigation Associate - General Liability
Responsibilities:
- Take and defend depositions
- Research legal, medical, and scientific issues
- Draft various legal documents including motions, briefs, and pleadings
- Coordinate with and work-up expert witnesses
- Participate in trial, mediation, and ADR planning and preparation
- Represent clients in court appearances
Qualifications:
- 6-10+ years of experience in first chair deposition and courtroom experience in general/premises liability and/or product liability matters
- Must be admitted in New York; New Jersey admission is a plus
- Juris Doctorate degree from an ABA accredited law school and active member in good standing of the bar
- Familiarity and experience with New York courts
- Excellent research, writing, and communication skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
- Strong time management skills and ability to meet deadlines
- Conscientious, dedicated, and responsible
- Professional, cooperative, positive, and flexible attitude
- Ability to work with diverse personalities at all levels of the organization
- Military experience is welcome
Salary Information:
- Uniondale & White Plains: $145,000 - $165,000
- New York City: $160,000 - $175,000
