Assistant General Counsel - Join a Reputed Firm and Contribute to an Inclusive Workplace

As the Assistant General Counsel at the **MEMBERS ONLY**SIGN UP NOW***., you will play a critical role in supporting the legal function of the organization. You will work closely with the General Counsel and senior management to handle a wide range of legal matters, including contracts, policies, governance, and labor issues. Your expertise and strategic thinking will help to protect the museum's reputation and enhance its standing in the community of museums.

Responsibilities:

- Review, draft, negotiate, and interpret contracts in various subject matters
- Assist in developing and drafting museum policies, procedures, and guidelines
- Advise on legal issues related to communication, finance, fundraising, HR, intellectual property, insurance, and more
- Support board governance work and anticipate and manage legal issues
- Exercise sound judgment and collaborate with staff at all levels
- Lead projects and meet deadlines
- Uphold professional standards and code of ethics

Requirements:

- Juris Doctor (.) degree and admission to practice law in Pennsylvania
- 4+ years of legal experience, preferably in a law firm
- Familiarity with contracts, governance, and labor issues
- Ability to adapt and think creatively
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong analytical thinking and attention to detail
- Impeccable integrity and professionalism

Position Details:

- Salary of $159,000
- Full-time, exempt position with 35 hours per week
- Reports to the General Counsel
- Physical requirements include the ability to remain stationary for extended periods and access all areas of the museum campus
- Background check required
