Law Firm Seeks Criminal Law Assistant in Charlotte, NC
Overview:
- Family, criminal, and personal injury law firm in uptown Charlotte seeking full-time Spanish speaking criminal assistant
- Responsibilities include file management, communicating with clients, calendaring court dates, and supporting attorneys throughout all phases of cases

Job Description:
- Opening and closing client files
- Corresponding with clients regarding court dates, documents, and payments
- Adding court dates to attorney's calendar
- Organizing client files for court appearances
- Processing payments and tracking client payments
- Gathering initial case information from potential new clients
- General office duties such as typing, filing, and data entry
- Sending letters to the courthouse and requesting/gathering discovery and client records
- Scheduling new client consultations and sending thank you letters
- Updating client information as needed
Job Requirements:
- 2 years of criminal law experience required
- Working understanding of legal terminology specific to the practice group
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Attention to detail and ability to follow up with little or no guidance
- Positive, flexible, and committed attitude
- Time management skills to work independently and meet deadlines
- Exceptional professionalism at all times
- Fluent in Spanish
Physical Requirements:
- Occasional standing and walking
- Sitting for up to one-half hour at a time
- Lifting and carrying up to 10 pounds occasionally
- Bending and stooping occasionally
