Compensation Overview:

The annual base salary range for this position is a nationwide market range, representing a broad range of salaries for this role across the country. The actual salary will be determined by factors such as the scope, complexity, and location of the role, as well as the candidate's skills, education, and experience. In addition to the base salary, employees are eligible for performance-based cash incentive awards.

Responsibilities:

As a Senior Counsel with Travelers, you will be responsible for handling high exposure cases and complex litigation matters. Your duties may include:

- Litigating cases to verdict, utilizing strong trial skills
- Specializing in one or more areas of practice
- Conducting legal research, writing, and presenting arguments effectively
- Drafting legal documents such as pleadings, motions, briefs, and discovery
- Building and maintaining relationships with internal and external clients
- Mentoring other attorneys and legal support staff
- Providing training and legal updates to clients and partners
- Analyzing cases and providing quality reporting
- Utilizing support staff and technology effectively
- Traveling as needed for business purposes
- Taking on special projects as assigned

Qualifications:

- 7+ years of Litigation practice or equivalent legal experience
- Proven track record of trial skills and techniques
- Strong legal acumen and technical knowledge in the relevant practice area(s)
- Familiarity with the local jurisdictional practices and adversaries
- Demonstrated leadership and mentoring skills
- High level of commitment to customer service
- Juris Doctorate from an accredited law school
- Active license in good standing to practice law in the state(s) where representation is needed
- Valid driver's license (depending on location)
