Job Responsibilities
The Professional Liability Partner will be part of the Professional Liability Practice at a law firm, an AmLaw 100 full-service firm. The candidate will be responsible for defending professional liability claims, which may involve Directors & Officers, Legal Malpractice, Errors & Omissions, and Architects & Engineers. The role involves both direct engagement and retention through the professional's insurance carrier. The attorney will represent various professionals, including accountants, architects & engineers, attorneys, bankers, computer and media professionals (cyber law), financial planners, healthcare providers, insurance brokers and agents, school districts and municipalities, property appraisers and inspectors, real estate appraisers, brokers and agents, and securities brokers (FINRA). The position requires strong research and writing skills. The candidate will work in a collaborative environment and may also be involved in developing litigation strategies, managing cases, and possibly mentoring less experienced attorneys.
Education and Experience Information
The candidate must have admission to the California Bar. The ideal candidate should possess eight (8) to fifteen (15) years of experience in defending professional liability claims. While experience in professional liability law is preferred, the law firm is open to candidates with substantive litigation experience and a demonstrated interest in professional liability law. The firm is interested in working with talented attorneys with excellent skills in any litigation arena, indicating a willingness to consider candidates who may not have direct experience in professional liability law but possess strong litigation capabilities.
Salary Information
The salary for the Professional Liability Partner position ranges from a minimum of USD $190, per year to a maximum of USD $220, per year. In addition to competitive compensation, the law firm offers a range of benefits, including medical, dental, vision, life insurance, a 401k plan with employer contribution, and a bonus for those who meet their minimum hourly requirement.
