As a member of our litigation practice group, the Associate Attorney will have the opportunity to work on a variety of challenging and complex legal issues, providing practical and efficient representation to school districts, community colleges, municipalities, and other public entities.

As an Associate Attorney, you will have the opportunity to work with a team of experienced attorneys who are dedicated to providing exceptional legal services to our clients. You will be responsible for performing a variety of legal work, including conducting legal research, drafting legal documents, and representing clients in court. This position requires strong analytical and problem-solving skills, as well as excellent written and verbal communication skills.

In this role, you will have the opportunity to work on a variety of public sector liability claims, civil rights, employment, and tort claims against governmental bodies and officials. You will also have the opportunity to represent clients in federal court litigation involving age, race, sex, due process, and retaliation claims. Additionally, you will have the opportunity to conduct discovery and negotiate settlements on behalf of our clients.

Key Responsibilities:

Research and analyze complex legal issues
Draft legal documents and memoranda
Represent clients in court
Conduct discovery and negotiate settlements
Build relationships with clients based on trust
Meet the firm’s minimum billable hour requirements

Required Qualifications:

Juris Doctor degree from an American Bar Association accredited law school
Admission to the Illinois State Bar
1-year minimum experience
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience in litigating public sector liability claims and defending civil rights, employment, and tort claims against governmental bodies and officials
