Job Description:
- Provide legal support to the Judge
- Conduct legal research
- Review motions and court files
- Draft memoranda and revise work product
- Respond to research questions on a case-by-case basis
- Deliver and triage chamber's work prior to sending to the Judge
- Attend court proceedings, as requested by the Judge
- Perform various duties based on the level of court: District Court, Circuit Court, Appellate Court of Maryland, and Supreme Court of Maryland
Requirements:
- Juris Doctorate degree from an ABA-accredited law school
- Prior legal writing experience preferred
- Knowledge of laws, rules, and court procedures
- Familiarity with general office work and computer software
- Excellent organizational and time management skills
- Ability to perform legal research and read and understand law-related materials
- Ability to compose orders and memoranda
- Ability to apply policies, procedures, rules, regulations, and laws as required
