Assistant Director, Alumni Relations

Job Responsibilities:
The Assistant Director, Alumni Relations at the law firm is responsible for managing and further developing the attorney alumni program. Key responsibilities include:
- Overseeing and managing the global alumni database.
- Managing the day-to-day operations of the alumni program and team.
- Partnering with key stakeholders across practices and offices to identify opportunities for alumni outreach.
- Maintaining and overseeing content on the alumni website.
- Collaborating with the editorial team on bi-annual issues of the alumni magazine.
- Coordinating with attorney development on offerings to alumni, such as CLE programming and job boards, and working to enhance these offerings.
- Establishing primary partner contacts for departed attorneys.
- Developing metrics for measuring the success of the alumni program and using these metrics to identify business development opportunities.
- Providing quarterly summaries of alumni job changes and tracking referrals from alumni.
- Recommending innovative approaches to deliver department services more efficiently.
- Establishing collaborative partnerships across departments to strengthen mutual interests and reduce operational redundancies.
- Exercising significant independence in managing certain aspects of the department's functions.
- Engaging in strategic planning by developing departmental goals and supporting objectives.
- Ensuring accurate and timely responses to requests for departmental services.
- Forecasting financial and budget requirements for the department and preparing related reports.
- Overseeing employees' work performance and utilizing the firm's performance management process.
- Participating in the interviewing, selection, and training process.
- Initiating disciplinary procedures in collaboration with the Human Resources Department.
- Demonstrating effective interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
- Performing other projects as directed.

Education and Experience Information:
- A Bachelor’s degree is required.
- A minimum of ten years of related experience in a law firm or other professional services marketing department is necessary.
- The candidate should currently be a Senior or Global Manager for over two years or have equivalent external experience in a managerial role.
- The role involves managing or directly coordinating and evaluating the work of ten or more people and/or functions with global reach.
- The candidate should have been managing for over ten years.

Salary Information:
The starting base salary for the Assistant Director, Alumni Relations position is expected to be within the range of $240,000 - $270,000. The actual salary will be determined based on skills, experience, and other job-related factors, consistent with applicable law.
