Job Description:
As the Lead Billing Specialist, you will oversee the billing cycle for assigned attorneys and manage cross-practice group initiatives and projects. You will prepare and present billing reports, ensure timely bill posting, and work independently to achieve objectives.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead billing compliance initiatives and ensure alignment across practice groups
Manage cross-practice group projects and maintain workflow efficiency
Process edits to prebills and ensure adherence to departmental and firm standards
Conduct thorough reviews of prebills to identify and rectify errors; ensure compliance with client guidelines
Verify and apply client-specific rate accommodations
Generate bills, reprint corrected pre-bills, and compose cover letters as needed
Communicate with billing attorneys to track deadlines and provide updates
Post bills with attorney approval and within deadlines
Collaborate with e-billing team for accurate electronic submission and approval of client bills
Monitor client accounts for delinquent payments and take appropriate action
Conduct research and reconciliation of client accounts and payments
Address complex billing issues and escalate as needed for resolution
Build strong relationships with clients to enhance billing efficiency
Recommend and implement process enhancements for efficiency and accuracy
Assist Client Accounting Manager with reporting and other projects as needed
Job Specifications:
5+ years of relevant experience
Knowledge of basic accounting principles
Advanced knowledge of billing processes and procedures
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Organizational skills and attention to detail
Customer service skills
Analytical skills
Ability to work under tight deadlines and prioritize responsibilities
Ability to work independently and take initiative

Salary Range: $90,000 - $138,000 (based on location and qualifications)
Please note that salary ranges are not guaranteed and may vary based on job-related factors. Base pay is only one part of the total rewards package we offer, which includes a discretionary bonus and comprehensive benefits for full time employees.
