Law Firm is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Bilingual Litigation Paralegal to join our team in Houston, TX. In this role, you will be responsible for providing support to our attorneys and clients in both English and Spanish. We are looking for someone who is organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple tasks efficiently under time constraints.
As a Bilingual Litigation Paralegal, you will have the opportunity to work on a variety of tasks, including client communication, coordination of depositions and meetings, document management, expert coordination, discovery preparation, file management, research, and trial preparation. You will play a crucial role in the success of our cases and will have the chance to work on high-profile and complex litigation matters.
Key Responsibilities:
- Communicate with clients in both English and Spanish to collect case-related information and documents
- Organize and schedule depositions, mediations, and meetings with clients and witnesses
- Obtain and manage medical records, bills, and affidavits; prepare medical record chronologies and billing summaries
- Liaise with expert witnesses and coordinate their involvement
- Prepare document production logs, deposition summaries, and other discovery summaries
- Organize and maintain case files throughout the litigation process
- Conduct basic research projects as needed
- Assist in preparing deposition, mediation, and trial notebooks
- Support trial preparation and trial proceedings
Qualifications and Skills:
- Paralegal certificate or degree preferred; minimum of five years of paralegal experience required
- Fluency in Spanish (both spoken and written) is essential
- Ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks efficiently under time constraints, with a keen eye for detail
- Strong business writing skills; adept at preparing documents and proofreading for accuracy, grammar, and clarity
- Effective communicator with the ability to interact professionally in person, in writing, and by telephone
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and Adobe Acrobat
- Experience with Trial Director or other trial presentation software and/or e-discovery review tools is a plus
