As Sr. Legal Account Manager, you will be responsible for managing external law firm and litigation vendor engagement, rate management, panel management, and stewardship. You will develop and maintain relationships with law firms and business partners through contracting, onboarding, and stewardship meetings. Effective communication and presentation skills, as well as the ability to analyze metrics and identify trends to support productive legal vendor partnerships, are a must for this role.
Responsibilities:
- Lead stewardship meetings with vendors and Markel stakeholders, addressing performance, expectations, and opportunities
- Manage the onboarding, contracting, and renewal process for legal vendors
- Use data analytics to identify trends and opportunities for law firm utilization, strategy, and expense mitigation
- Develop and maintain relationships with external law firms and business partners to achieve optimal litigation outcomes
- Negotiate legal vendor rates and review panel rates
- Prepare legal vendor performance updates for key partners, senior leaders, and associates
- Maintain legal vendor database
- Assist with review of attorney/firm billing history and spend
- Collaborate with claims leaders to support legal vendor needs
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree, paralegal certification, or equivalent work experience
- Claims designations and/or certifications, paralegal certificate(s) a plus
- 5-7 years of claims account management, general commercial account management experience, and/or senior level claims, insurance, or paralegal law firm experience
- Claims litigation experience
- Strong presentation skills, with the ability to effectively communicate complex information to both vendors and senior level stakeholders
- Proven ability to work independently with a high degree of accuracy and diligence
- Effective interpersonal, analytical, and problem-solving skills, with a collaborative approach
- Familiarity with Adobe document review and redactions
- Experience managing vendor onboarding, stewardship, and performance management
- Ability to resolve issues with multiple stakeholders and maintain continuity of effective relationship management
- Innovative thinking when it comes to customer service and providing efficient solutions

Salary Information:
The base salary offered for this position will be based on factors such as job-relevant education, job-relevant experience, training, licensure, demonstrated competencies, geographic location, and other factors. The national average salary for the Sr. Account Manager, Claims Vendor Management is $72,100 - $101,530 with 25% bonus potential.
