Law Firm seeks Litigation Paralegal with 3-5 years of experience to join their dynamic team in Washington, DC. The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's Degree and a strong background in large document productions, particularly in class action cases. This is a full-time position with a competitive salary range of $80,000 - $120,000 per year.
The Litigation Paralegal will play a crucial role in assisting attorneys in all phases of litigation, including motion practice, discovery, trial and post-trial. The successful candidate will have excellent written and oral communication skills, as well as experience working with litigation databases and familiarity with Relativity. They will also possess strong technical skills in Microsoft Office and the ability to learn new software and applications.
Responsibilities of the Litigation Paralegal include:
Assisting attorneys in all phases of litigation, including motion practice, discovery, trial and post-trial
Drafting various legal documents, such as subpoenas, deposition notices, and responses to discovery requests
Coordinating e-filing and service process with the Managing Attorney’s office for federal/state court or judicial panels
Compiling, organizing and reviewing responsive and related production documents
Cite-checking, Shepardizing, Bluebooking and proofreading court filings and related position papers
Performing statistical and factual research and compiling data for analyses
Conducting background investigations of adversaries, arbitrators, judges and third parties
Reviewing, organizing and maintaining document productions, developing and conducting key word searches, drafting and maintaining privilege logs
Digesting/summarizing deposition and other transcripts including expert witnesses
Assisting in all phases of pre-trial activities, such as preparing witness binders and coordinating trial exhibits
Attending and assisting at trial/hearings, including preparing and maintaining exhibits and demonstratives
The successful candidate will have a Bachelor's Degree and 3-5 years of experience working in a law firm, preferably with a background in class action cases. They will have a strong understanding of the litigation process and excellent communication skills. Familiarity with litigation databases, such as Relativity, is a plus.
The Litigation Paralegal will be expected to work well under pressure in a team environment and handle multiple tasks efficiently. They must also be available to work considerable overtime when required, including evenings and weekends. Strong technical skills in Microsoft Office, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint are essential, as well as the ability to learn new software and applications.
In this role, the Litigation Paralegal will have the opportunity to work on complex and high-profile cases with top legal professionals. They will play a crucial role in assisting attorneys and will have the opportunity to supervise junior paralegals as needed. This is a full-time position that will require physical presence in the law firm's offices at least 3 times per week, with the potential for more as business needs require.
