The **MEMBERS ONLY**SIGN UP NOW***. (OPD) is seeking law students and recent law school graduates for its Summer 2025 Law Clerk program. This program offers an unparalleled hands-on experience for students to assist in the client-centered and team-based representation of OPD clients. This opportunity is available in various offices throughout Maryland, including Baltimore County, Baltimore City, Cecil, Montgomery, Prince George's, Talbot, Washington, and Worcester Counties.
The Parental Defense Division of OPD represents parents whose children are taken or at risk of being taken by the government. This division provides opportunities for students to work closely with attorneys and other legal professionals to ensure the best representation possible for clients.
Volunteers will have the opportunity to work on a variety of tasks including client contact, witness preparation, investigations, and trial preparation. This is an unpaid volunteer position, but opportunities for academic credit and external funding may be available.
The application process for the Summer 2025 Law Clerk program is ongoing, with applications accepted on a rolling basis. Law clerks are expected to work a minimum of 40 hours per week and must be available to start on May 27, 2025. The program runs for 10 weeks and includes a mandatory virtual orientation on May 27 and May 28.

- Offices throughout Maryland, with only Montgomery County and Baltimore City accessible via public transportation
