The Patent Paralegal III will have the opportunity to work with a team of 4-6 patent attorneys/agents, supporting their prosecution dockets and collaborating with colleagues across the legal department. This role requires a Bachelor's degree and/or a paralegal certificate from an ABA-approved education program, as well as 5-7 years of patent prosecution experience. The successful candidate will have a strong knowledge of patent law and procedures, proficiency in Microsoft Office and Adobe Acrobat, and experience with collaboration platforms such as Microsoft Teams and Sharepoint.
Responsibilities for this role include filing documents with the US Patent and Trademark Office, preparing and finalizing US and PCT applications, monitoring and preparing Information Disclosure Statements, and managing file histories. The Patent Paralegal III will also engage in a variety of IP operations responsibilities, such as managing IP data and records, developing standard operating procedures, and providing training and technical support to IP practitioners and outside counsel. This role also offers the opportunity to work on special projects and collaborate with colleagues across various national and international locations.
The ideal candidate for this role will have a strong attention to detail, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to work well under pressure. They should also possess strong communication and interpersonal skills, as well as the ability to work independently and establish working relationships with colleagues across global locations. This role may require overtime and minimal travel.

Salary information for this role ranges from $75K to $107K per year, with a median salary of $89K per year. This salary information is based on estimates from Glassdoor and may vary based on location and experience. Thermo Fisher Scientific offers a standard work schedule of Monday to Friday and an office environment.
