Litigation Paralegal The candidate will manage a workers compensation litigation caseload. Will handle communication with the clients as to all litigation matters, with a typical caseload of from 50 to 100 cases. Manage the litigation and attorney calendar, scheduling and tracking deadlines, hearings, appointments, doctor consults and depositions with gather, review, organize and analyze extensive claim materials and voluminous medical and other evidentiary records regarding Appeal matters. Manage discovery, including drafting discovery and discovery responses and pleadings for attorney review. Prepare for and attend telephonic mediations on behalf of clients. Assist the attorneys in identifying key exhibits for depositions, mediations, hearings and/or trial. Will be tasked with preparing detailed medical summaries, notebooks for attorney use, exhibits for use at hearings, and conducting various research projects. Will be working with various experts (medical, vocational, etc.) to obtain the necessary records for review, scheduling of meetings and client visits, participating in teleconferences and verifying expert s credentials prior to their engagement. 3+ years as a litigation paralegal required. Ability to analyze substantive legal issues required. Experience managing and completing discovery required. History of extensive client contact and management required. Experience preparing trial notebooks required. Proficiency with all Microsoft Office applications required. Ability to manage large calendar with no errors required. Knowledge of Washington State Workers Compensation system and laws preferred. Knowledge of Board of Industrial Insurance Appeals processes preferred. Bilingual in Spanish required. Experience with Trialworks required. Spanish required.
