Job Description and Program Overview:
- Law clerks work under the supervision of staff attorneys on various aspects of poverty law
- Tasks may include conducting client interviews, drafting pleadings, appearing in court hearings, legal research, and more
- In-person work is necessary, but remote work may be possible with prior approval
- LSSCM is a division of the **MEMBERS ONLY**SIGN UP NOW***. (MAP), which works to advance the safety, independence, and economic stability of those affected by poverty and other oppressive systems
- MAP has offices in multiple locations in Michigan and has been providing civil legal aid for over 50 years
- LSSCM specifically focuses on civil legal representation for low-income individuals, with emphasis on homelessness prevention, domestic violence prevention, and access to government benefits
- The Family Law Project, located in Ypsilanti, represents low-income survivors of domestic violence
- The Programwide Expungement Project provides Set Aside eligibility screening, application preparation, and hearing representation to clients across a 13-county service area

Salary Information:
- Summer law clerk position offers a stipend of $6500 for a 10-week program
