Litigation Paralegal Duties: Organization and management of court papers, correspondence, case evidence and other materials, including electronic databases. Collection, review, assessment of, coding and/or compilation of discovery documents, and production of those materials. Assembly and organization of witness and other case materials for attorney analysis. Word processing, proofing and finalization of correspondence, pleadings and discovery. Electronic court filing (state and federal) and preparation of materials for same. Calculating case deadlines pursuant to applicable rules for docketing, and maintenance of firm's docketing calendar. Trial preparation and support. Supervision of legal assistants in their accurate and timely performance of case tasks. Being available for overtime work on an as-needed basis.
Qualifications: Knowledge of civil litigation rules and procedures, including those regarding court filings. Excellent communication skills with coworkers, clients and outside vendors (on the phone, by email, and in person). Proficiency with collection, production and management of e-discovery, including substantial experience with litigation support databases (., CS Disco, Logikcull, Relativity, Concordance, etc.). Fluency in Microsoft Office products such as Word, Excel, and Outlook, including the ability to create tables of authorities and tables of contents in Word and familiarity in working with formulas in Excel. Typing speed of 75 WPM is required. Ability to effectively take instruction, identify potential issues, and propose alternative solutions.
