This role will focus on providing legal representation and support to low-income and working individuals facing economic abuse and housing insecurity. The ideal candidate will have experience in housing law, real estate, bankruptcy, lending, or related fields.

Job Title: Homeowner Defense Attorney
Location: Denver, Colorado (Remote)

Compensation: $90,000 per year
Responsibilities:
- Work on public trustee foreclosure, judicial foreclosure, mobile home owner eviction defense, tangled title, and replevin, loan servicing violations, and other defensive and affirmative cases protecting homeownership.
- Set and complete case goals.
- Coordinate across CEDP to ensure timely tracking and reporting of case completions.
- Maintain a regular schedule of hearings, court appearances, and conferences.
- Interact with and present to partners across the organization to serve clients efficiently and effectively.
- Prepare and present on homeowner and mobile homeowners rights to groups of clients, partners across the organization, and partner organizations across the state.
- Complete required documentation for both case tracking and personal management.
Position Requirements:
- Colorado Bar Admission and JD
- 2+ years' experience in housing law, real estate, bankruptcy, lending, litigation, or related fields.
- Ability to manage a significant homeowner defense caseload independently.
- Demonstrated passion for social and racial justice.
- Robust research and drafting capabilities.
- Strong desire to center client and community needs.
- Excellent interpersonal communication skills.
- Ability to travel within the Denver Metro area and surrounding areas.
- Ability to work in a hybrid work environment.
- Strong organizational abilities.
- Knowledge of MS Office suite, CLIO, and Google Suite desired.
- Additional language skills are a plus and eligible for an additional stipend.
Additional Details:
- Candidates must reside in Colorado, ideally within the greater Denver Metro area.
- Competitive pay, flexible time off, benefits package (including medical, dental, vision), and 401k offered.
- Employees who utilize two or more languages in their work are eligible for a $2,000 salary differential per year.
