Are you an experienced immigration attorney looking for a new opportunity to enhance your knowledge and work on high value immigration matters? Look no further! Our law firm is seeking a talented and driven Associate to join our Immigration Practice Group in multiple locations across the country.
Position Details:
- Level: 4-6 years' of experience
- Location: Miami, Tampa, Fort Lauderdale, San Diego, New York, Alexandria, Charlotte, Harrisburg, King of Prussia, Newark, Philadelphia, Pittsburgh, or Princeton
- Salary: Competitive and commensurate with experience
Responsibilities:
- Handling a diverse caseload of immigration matters such as non-immigrant visa applications and petitions, employment-based and family-based green card processes, naturalization applications, waivers of inadmissibility, and I-9 compliance.
- Conducting legal research into immigration laws, regulations, and policies to provide accurate advice to clients.
- Collaborating with other attorneys, shareholders, paralegals, and administrative personnel on complex immigration matters.
- Drafting legal documents, such as forms, letters in support, petition packages, and correspondence.
- Taking ownership of cases from beginning to end with limited supervision and assistance.
- Contributing to case strategy and analysis by employing creativity, innovative thinking, and problem-solving skills.
- Representing clients in interviews and other proceedings.
- Communicating with clients, government agencies, and other parties involved in immigration cases.
- Staying updated on changes in immigration laws and policies to ensure compliance and provide strategic advice to clients.
- Assisting in business development efforts, client consultations, and networking activities to grow the immigration practice.
- Participating in and conducting training programs, seminars, and professional development opportunities.
- Upholding ethical standards and maintaining client confidentiality throughout all interactions and transactions.
- Keeping accurate and up-to-date accounting of time spent on each project.
Qualifications:
- 4-6 years of experience in immigration law with a focus on employment-based immigration.
- Strong knowledge of immigration law and practice backed up by excellent academic credentials and research skills.
- Previous experience in labor and employment law is required.
- Must be familiar with various visa types, including H-1B, O-1, P-1, E-2, L-1A/B, NIW, EB-1A, EB-1B, EB-1C, J-1 waiver, Labor Certification/PERM cases, RFE, NOID and Audit responses.
- Ability to handle a diverse caseload with limited supervision and assistance.
- Excellent communication, writing, and interpersonal skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work well in a team environment.
- Must be able to adapt to changing priorities and work well under pressure.
- Must be committed to upholding ethical standards and maintaining client confidentiality.
