- Supervises subordinate counsel on the Optum Frontier Therapies team
- Flexibility to work remotely from anywhere in the .
- Provide legal advice and services on organizational issues
- Protect the organization's rights in negotiations, settlements, and litigation
- Support business clients in managing agreements with pharmaceutical manufacturers, payors, PBMs, vendors, and strategic partners
- Acquire deep knowledge of the industry and specific business practices
- Support Deputy General Counsel with strategic projects
- Specialize in areas such as mergers and acquisitions, transactional work, commercial law, contracts law, regulatory matters, and healthcare compliance
- Juris Doctorate degree and Bar admission in at least one state required
- 7+ years of legal experience in health care regulatory and transactional practices
- Deep understanding of specialty pharmacy and distribution industries
- Knowledge of compliance with health care laws and regulations
- Experience with regulatory agencies and state boards
- Ability to build and maintain relationships
- Understanding of business problems related to legal projects
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Excellent presentation skills
- Preferred qualifications: 10+ years of legal experience in health care regulatory and transactional practices, experience with a state or federal healthcare regulatory agency, understanding of health insurance and/or managed care industry, experience with negotiation of pharmacy supplier, vendor, and technology entities
- Salary range of $124,500 to $239,400 annually
