Department Mission: The Office of the Solicitor is responsible for the legal work of the . Department of the Interior (DOI), with a focus on conservation and the well-being of American Indians and Alaska Natives.

Responsibilities:
- Conduct legal research on environmental, administrative, and Indian law issues
- Draft legal memoranda, briefs, and motions
- Assist with discovery in active federal cases
- Participate in conference calls and strategy sessions with other agency counsel
- Attend hearings and meetings in the Washington, . area

Qualifications:
- Must be a student, including undergraduate students enrolled at least half-time, public policy graduate students, and law students in good academic standing
- Native American students are strongly encouraged to apply
