Senior Application Engineer - WilmerHale law firm
WilmerHale, a leading international law firm with 1,000 lawyers located throughout 12 offices in the United States and Europe, is seeking a Senior Application Engineer to join their team. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 7 years of experience in Information Technology, with at least 5 years working in a Windows OS environment. Experience with IntApp tools, such as IntApp Open, IntApp Flow, and IntApp Integrate, or similar platforms, is preferred.
The Senior Application Engineer will provide support for various applications and assist in the implementation of new solutions managed by the Application Development and Integration team. These solutions include commercial-off-the-shelf (COTS) applications, as well as cloud-based and software-as-a-service (SAAS) solutions. The role requires the ability to work independently, with a curious and confident approach, in the design, implementation, and maintenance of these applications, including ongoing updates and upgrades. The Senior Application Engineer will also serve as a technical lead on projects, troubleshoot issues, provide level 3 support, and ensure that design and technical documentation is created and updated.
Key Responsibilities:
- Serve as Technical Reference User for assigned applications, leveraging previous experience to develop new solutions
- Perform application deployments, upgrades, and patch planning
- Develop and maintain integrations with various APIs and HTTP endpoints
- Design and implement RESTful services to support business needs
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to API integrations and data exchange
- Stay updated on technology developments and make recommendations
- Assist with resolution of escalated incidents and participate in problem management activities
- Act as a resource for small application-specific development requests and address special requests from Information Services and other computer users
- Design, configure, code, and document business systems and assigned application software
- Take responsibility for implementation, maintenance, and technical support of purchased and custom developed software packages and integrations
- Provide guidance and influence the implementation of existing and new technologies, adhering to industry standards and best practices
- Oversee application packaging requirements, configuration, design, and customization for large, complex, or firm-wide applications
- Participate in special projects and perform other duties as assigned
- Contribute to the Firm’s service excellence initiative by displaying professionalism, quality service, and a “can do” attitude to internal members/departments of the firm, as well as external clients and vendors.
Qualifications:
- Experience with IntApp Open, IntApp Flow, and IntApp Integrate, or similar technology is preferred
- Proficiency in supporting security systems (. Geoffrey)
- Empirical and methodical approach to testing and troubleshooting
- Experience working in a Microsoft environment, including Windows 10/11, Windows Server 2016 and up, Active Directory, IIS, etc.
- Proficiency in writing and optimizing complex SQL queries for data retrieval and manipulation
- Experience with database management systems such as SQL Server, MySQL, PostgreSQL, or Oracle
- Ability to analyze and troubleshoot database-related issues and provide effective solutions
- Scripting proficiency in any language (PowerShell, Python, etc.) is preferred
- Experience with API management platforms (., Microsoft Graph, AWS API Gateway)
- Extensive application troubleshooting experience in an enterprise environment
- Demonstrated ability to write and edit technical documentation
- Experience supporting a 24x7 production environment
- Excellent oral and written communication skills, including the ability to effectively communicate technical information to both technical and non-technical personnel
- Ability to work effectively with both users and technical staff in team-oriented environments
- Ability to work successfully and independently in an atmosphere where meeting or exceeding client expectations and SLAs is important, despite challenges and shifting priorities.
Education and Experience:
- A bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Systems, or other related field preferred, work experience will be considered in lieu of education
- Minimum 7 years of Information Technology experience
- 5+ years’ experience working in a Windows OS environment experience required
- Experience with the IntApp tools mentioned above, or similar platform
- Experience within a legal environment is a plus.
This full-time position is based in Boston, Massachusetts, with a salary range of $138,900 to $173,600 USD.
