Litigation Paralegal Responsibilities: Work closely with attorneys to meet filing and litigation deadlines. File and calendar motions and responsive pleadings. Work closely with clients and attorneys to respond to discovery requests. Work with attorneys to prepare basic pleadings, witness disclosures, exhibit witness lists, and subpoenas. Maintain electronic files for active litigation. Edit pleadings and letters for clarity, typos, and grammatical errors. Work with attorneys and other staff on trial prep and work closely with attorneys during trial. Manage onboarding of potential new clients to ensure all necessary information is obtained from the new client and internal databases are set up. Work with other staff to ensure incoming calls are answered and clients are greeted (only when necessary).
Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree, Associate's Degree, and/or Paralegal Certificate. 3-7 years of experience working as a litigation paralegal in a small to the medium-sized law firm. Experience prioritizing multiple projects and deadlines. Experience working with attorneys to prepare for bench and jury trials. Experience conducting legal research and fact research for depositions and discovery. Familiarity with the local civil rules and filing systems for King, Pierce, and Snohomish County Superior Courts. Familiarity with the local civil rules for the Federal Courts in Washington and PACER. Basic knowledge of ShareFile, DocuSign, and other cloud file-sharing applications. Basic knowledge of Zoom, Microsoft Teams, and WebEx. Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel, OneNote, and PowerPoint. Strong working knowledge of Adobe Acrobat and how to use it in discovery and to create/finalize pleadings. Strong writing and editing skills.
