The non-profit law firm, ABLE, is seeking a culturally competent attorney for its Dayton office to work with their Housing and Community Economic Development Practice Group. This position will focus on representing tenants experiencing housing issues and collaborating with community members to address systemic issues.
Responsibilities:
- Represent tenants in eviction defense and other housing-related issues
- Collaborate and advocate with community leaders to address systemic issues
- Use a community lawyering approach to support disenfranchised communities, particularly those impacted by systemic racism
- Work in a collaborative environment with excellent interpersonal skills

- Familiarity with community and movement lawyering models preferred
- Legal experience in landlord/tenant, civil rights, or poverty law helpful
Salary and Benefits:
- Salary dependent on relevant legal experience
- Excellent fringe benefits, including health insurance and student loan repayment assistance up to $6000 per year
