Job Summary:
- Legal Counsel role within Equinix's core global xScale Legal team
- Supports the xScale business, which is a fast-growing joint venture with investment partners for larger scale deployments with nominated cloud service and technology providers
Responsibilities:
- Develop expertise to support xScale business and leverage Equinix's expertise in developing and operating xScale data centers
- Support corporate law aspects of xScale expansion, including M&A transactions, incorporation of new entities, etc.
- Support corporate restructuring projects within xScale portfolio
- Ensure compliance with xScale and Equinix policies and procedures
- Organize and run board meetings, work with directors and employees at all levels
- Coordinate with other Equinix legal team members responsible for maintaining xScale group legal entities
- Advise on ad hoc corporate legal or regulatory issues
- Facilitate and coordinate legal updates for stakeholder and investor calls
- Coordinate legal due diligence across various joint venture activities
- Assist with drafting and negotiating corporate and real estate documents
- Collect and formulate audit responses and KYC requests
- Liaise with external legal counsel in various jurisdictions
Qualifications:
- Degree qualification with post qualification corporate law and/or governance experience
- Some in-house experience preferred
- Experience in dynamic business environment preferred
- IT, telecom, and/or real estate industry experience preferred
- Strong communication and relationship building skills
- Attention to detail and ability to work with tight deadlines
- Strong organizational and prioritization skills
- Ability to take a pragmatic and commercial approach
- Ability to multi-task and work with limited supervision
