Overview:
Confluent, a leader in data streaming technology, is seeking a business-oriented attorney to join our legal team as a Regulatory Compliance Counsel. In this role, you will work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure our compliance with global and regional financial services laws related to cloud outsourcing. You will also have the opportunity to collaborate with colleagues around the world and make a meaningful impact on the way organizations use data.
Key Responsibilities:
- Analyze global and regional financial services laws and translate requirements into actionable product features
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure compliance features meet customer needs and regulatory expectations
- Stay informed on evolving financial services laws and regulations
- Support periodic assessments to identify areas for improvement in compliance-related capabilities
- Partner with the Office of the CISO to develop scalable frameworks for addressing regulatory updates within the product lifecycle
- Assist in creating external customer and sales enablement material on Confluent's compliance position
- Identify potential legal risks and propose solutions to mitigate them
Qualifications:
- Juris Doctor (JD) or equivalent law degree
- Admission to at least one state or national bar association
- 7+ years of experience as a practicing attorney, preferably in financial services, SaaS, or technology
- Deep understanding of global financial services regulations and privacy laws
- Strong collaborative skills and ability to work cross-functionally
- Excellent communication and analytical skills

Confluent offers competitive pay and benefits that are in line with industry standards. We carefully consider factors such as work history, education, professional experience, and location when determining compensation. This position has an estimated salary of $197,300 - $231,840 per year and a competitive equity package. The actual pay may vary based on skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
