Experience Information:
• 2+ years (Associate Claim Examiner) or 7+ years (Claim Examiner) of relevant experience handling liability matters including prior examiner, adjuster, paralegal, attorney/lawyer and/or other transferable experience.
• Employment practices, D&O and or E&O claim experience, multi-jurisdictional knowledge, advanced degrees and/or JD are a plus.

Job Description:
• Analytical and creative problem solver with the ability to hone in on key issues for coverage, liability and damage evaluation.
• Assertive decision maker with a strong desire to persuade through negotiation and conflict management.
• Ongoing challenges with every unique claim, providing opportunities to learn and grow.
• Interaction with underwriting, compliance and actuarial to keep products healthy.
• Responsible for confirming coverage, preparing coverage position letters, and conducting thorough investigations of claims.
• Understanding and application of statutory and case law to assess liability exposure.
• Identification of joint tortfeasors and ensuring fair payment from all parties.
• Maintaining adequate reserves and preparing reports for underwriting and other departments.
• Support customer service and respond promptly to phone and email inquiries.
• Enrollment in continuing education and completion of special projects.
• Occasional travel required for mediations or court hearings.
• Strong understanding of legal concepts, litigation processes, and agency filings.
• Excellent communication, analytical, negotiation, organizational, and time management skills.
• Technical knowledge of insurance coverage, employment law, and claim evaluation.
