Legal Writing Coach
The candidate will enhance the legal writing skills of attorneys within the firm. Develop and implement comprehensive writing curriculums, provide strategic direction for writing objectives, and work collaboratively with various stakeholders to ensure the highest standard of legal writing across all Strategic Business Units (SBUs) and Practice Specialty Centers (PSCs). Provide overall strategic direction for writing objectives and curriculums across all SBUs and PSCs. Collaborate with the curriculum design strategist to build comprehensive training curriculums tailored to the needs of different practice areas. Continuously evaluate and update writing curriculums to reflect current legal standards and practices; including developing metrics to evaluate the effectiveness of writing programs. Work closely with PSC Leaders to align writing training with the firm's strategic goals and practice-specific requirements. Collaborate with the Legal Recruiting team to develop and implement writing training programs for summer associates, ensuring a seamless integration into the firm’s culture and expectations. Develop and present engaging and effective writing training sessions for attorneys at all levels, including workshops, seminars, and one-on-one coaching. This may also include writing programs for business professionals. Conduct individual writing coaching sessions with associates, providing personalized feedback and guidance to enhance their legal writing capabilities. Monitor and assess the progress of attorneys and associates, offering constructive feedback and additional resources as needed. Stay abreast of the latest trends and best practices in legal writing and education, incorporating relevant insights into training materials and sessions. Foster a culture of continuous improvement and excellence in legal writing throughout the firm. A Juris Doctor from an accredited law school is required. Should preferably have 7-10 years of experience in legal practice or legal writing. Proven experience in teaching, coaching, or mentoring legal professionals is needed. Exceptional presentation skills are required.
