Associate Corporate Counsel, AWS Transportation, Logistics, and Supply Chain Operations
Job Responsibilities:
The Associate Corporate Counsel will play a crucial role within the legal department, focusing on Amazon Web Services' (AWS) expanding global transportation, logistics, and supply chain operations. The primary responsibilities include:
- Structuring, drafting, and negotiating commercial agreements to support AWS’s supply chain.
- Independently addressing a broad range of commercial and regulatory issues.
- Serving as lead counsel on strategic supply chain operations projects.
- Providing day-to-day legal advice and resolving issues in existing commercial relationships.
- Addressing regulatory questions and handling pre-litigation disputes and inquiries.
- Developing strategies to creatively and business-centrically handle legal issues.
- Building processes that manage risk while allowing business flexibility and agility.
- Drafting and negotiating complex, bespoke, and high-value contracts.
- Owning and implementing strategic initiatives and projects, collaborating cross-functionally with other legal teams.
- Developing and improving legal review and engagement processes.
- Resolving pre-litigation disputes and addressing compliance challenges affecting supply chain operations.
Education and Experience Information:
Basic qualifications include:
- A degree.
- Membership in one state bar or an equivalent.
Preferred qualifications:
- Over 2 years of legal experience.
- Experience in private practice or in-house at a technology company or equivalent.
- Experience managing multiple projects and meeting aggressive deadlines.
- Experience in web services/cloud computing, software licensing, telecommunications, or equivalent.
- Knowledge of legal issues related to transportation, warehousing, reverse logistics, and other supply chain operations.
- Possession of common sense, great judgment, and a good sense of humor.
- Excellent interpersonal skills, a desire to be challenged, and the ability to be a partner to business stakeholders.
