Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the Legal, Claims, and Integrity Group (MIGLIC) and provide legal guidance and expertise to the Multilateral Investment Guarantee Agency (MIGA).

The Director and General Counsel will work closely with the senior management team to implement the strategy of the WBG Guarantee Platform, which aims to boost annual guarantee issuance to $20 billion by 2030. This platform serves as a one-stop-shop for all WBG guarantee business, providing the best solutions for clients to meet project needs and development priorities.
As the chief legal officer, the Director and General Counsel will also be responsible for interpreting MIGA's Convention, By-Laws, and Operational Policies. They will oversee membership activities, host country approval requests, and the drafting and negotiating of Contracts of Guarantee. Additionally, the GC will advise on all institutional matters and represent MIGA in legal or arbitration proceedings.
The successful candidate will have a deep understanding of project finance and/or political risk insurance and experience in claims management and/or troubled loan workouts. Familiarity with international public law and operating in emerging markets is a plus.
