Simpson Thacher & Bartlett LLP is seeking a Business Development Specialist, Litigation to join our team and support our global business development initiatives.

About the Role:

As a Business Development Specialist, Litigation, you will be responsible for organizing and leveraging information about our Firm's litigation practice areas and lawyers. You will also conduct research and analysis on clients, competitors, markets, trends, and industries to support our business development efforts. This role is critical in ensuring the Firm's high standard of excellence in all work product, communications, and critical functions.

Key Responsibilities:

- Partner with the Business Development team to publicize initiatives, services, and significant matters internally and externally
- Serve as a resource on the Firm's litigation practice areas, attorney expertise, related organizations, media, and market positioning
- Conduct research and provide analysis on clients, competitors, markets, trends, and industries
- Draft pitches, RFP responses, and other marketing materials for new business opportunities and client meetings
- Maintain and ensure the accuracy of the Firm's contact and engagement databases
- Manage direct client communications, such as client alerts and memoranda
- Collaborate with the Senior Team to communicate key initiatives and cross-practice opportunities
- Prepare and manage directory submissions and survey responses for legal and business directories and publications
- Maintain website content, attorney biographies, and practice group descriptions
- Coordinate Firm-sponsored events and presentations
- Support Business Development projects and other Firm initiatives as needed
- Work with stakeholders in other departments and offices as needed

Qualifications:

- Bachelor's degree in business, English, communications, marketing, or related field
- Minimum of 4 years of relevant experience
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced and demanding environment
- Strong attention to detail and self-motivated to produce accurate and timely work
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong research and analytical abilities
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to make sound decisions
- Ability to build professional relationships and provide exceptional customer service
- Proficiency in MS Office programs, including Outlook, Word, and Excel

Preferred Qualifications:

- Prior experience in marketing and business development at a law firm
- Knowledge of the litigation landscape and/or experience working in litigation practice areas
- Familiarity with Foundation or Content Pilot's suite of products or other experience database
- Experience updating/maintaining a website
- Experience using a Client Relationship Management (CRM) system
- Ability to manage priorities effectively in a fast-paced environment

Salary Information:

- New York: Estimated range of $95,000-$120,000 at the time of posting
- Actual salary offered will depend on various factors
