H2: Defend Arbitrations and Lawsuits for First Party Insurance Defense
GEICO is seeking an experienced Associate Counsel, PIP to join our team in New Jersey. As an Associate Counsel, you will have the opportunity to defend arbitrations and lawsuits for first party insurance defense. This is a full-time position with the option to work remotely.
Job Duties and Responsibilities:
- Conduct legal research and prepare briefs, opinions, and memoranda
- Provide coverage opinions and assessments on medical necessity, causation, damages, and value
- Handle arbitration submissions, examinations under oath, and defend matters through trial or dispositive hearings
- Communicate with the Claims Department and provide guidance on legal matters
Basic Qualifications:
- 2 to 6+ years of litigation experience in insurance defense and/or personal injury
- Juris Doctor degree and admission to the New Jersey Bar
- Good standing with the New Jersey Bar and ability to meet and maintain licensing requirements
- Willingness to travel for trials, hearings, depositions, and other legal proceedings
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in civil litigation
- Previous work in insurance defense-related litigation
Salary Information:
- Annual salary range: $118, - $186,
- Final salary offer will be based on factors such as job responsibilities, experience, education, and market considerations
