The Associate General Counsel at **MEMBERS ONLY**SIGN UP NOW***. will provide legal advice and recommendations for initiatives and projects developed in response to clients’ objectives and needs. This role will work as a strategic partner with senior leaders and manage work independently. Preferred locations include St. Louis, MO; Mason, OH; Indianapolis, IN; Louisville, KY; Portland, ME; Manchester, NH; Wallingford, CT; or Mendota Heights, MN, with alternate locations considered. This position will work in a hybrid model (remote and office), and the ideal candidate will live within 50 miles of one of our **MEMBERS ONLY**SIGN UP NOW***. PulsePoint locations.

Responsibilities Include:

- Providing legal advice and guidance on business strategies and initiatives
- Proactively assisting with legal issues during contract negotiations
- Offering legal guidance on health law, regulatory, contractual, and operational matters
- Working on complex problems and large-scale enterprise initiatives
- Reviewing and drafting provider contract language changes
- Supporting value-based contracting and shared savings or risk arrangements with providers
- Assisting with network expansions or new networks
- Resolving provider disputes prior to litigation
- Utilizing contract management software to track custom provider contract provisions
- Reviewing provider communications for compliance with legal and contractual requirements
- Assisting with provider contract filings and interacting with regulators as needed
- Reviewing settlement agreements, letters of intent, and confidentiality agreements
- Supporting the development of paralegals on the legal team
- Reporting identified business exposure and risks to management
- Working autonomously and managing work independently
- Providing statutory/regulatory interpretation
- Reviewing proposed legislation and assisting implementation team with interpretation

Minimum Requirements:

- JD and current license to practice law
- 9+ years of specific industry and/or technical legal experience post licensure, or a combination of education and experience
- Preferred experience managing outside counsel
- Experience in commercial and government business, specifically Medicare Advantage or Medicaid
- Experience working on provider matters
- Understanding of health insurance law, state and federal regulations, compliance, and contract law
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills

Salary Range:

For candidates working in person or remotely in Mendota Heights, MN, the salary range for this position is $181,544 to $272,316.
