Organization is seeking a highly experienced and motivated Senior Staff Attorney to join our team in Washington, . This full-time position offers a competitive salary range of $102,000 to $140,000 annually, based on experience and qualifications. The Senior Staff Attorney will play a crucial role in our mission to counter the tobacco industry's harmful influence on public policy. This position reports to the Vice President for Legal and Regulatory Affairs and will be responsible for providing legal and policy support for regulation of the tobacco industry, including e-cigarettes, by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA).

Responsibilities:
• Develop and conduct litigation activities to ensure effective FDA regulation of tobacco products
• Engage in legal representation of client groups and individuals in lawsuits against FDA regulatory activities
• Prepare formal comments and other submissions to FDA on policy and legal issues
• Provide legal support for defense of state and local tobacco control laws and regulations
• Analyze federal, state, and local legislation and draft proposals as needed
• Serve as a resource for other staff on legal and policy issues
• Participate in public education activities on tobacco control issues

Qualifications:
• At least six years of legal experience, including substantial litigation experience
• Knowledge of and proficiency with Microsoft Office software
• Strong analytical skills and legal writing and research ability
• Excellent organizational skills
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment with multiple projects and deadlines
• Ability to take initiative and work independently with minimal supervision
