Job Title: Manager - Tax Technology & Transformation - Indirect Tax
Job Responsibilities:
- Assist client tax departments in optimizing their efficiency and productivity to better identify tax-saving opportunities.
- Transfer control of tax decision-making to the tax specialists within the client’s department.
- Define solutions, coordinate technical resources, and deliver products that meet client goals and tax requirements.
- Lead a team, mentor counselees, and manage client-serving business.
- Document and review current state tax processes and controls to identify enhancement opportunities.
- Support the development of a business case for tax process enhancements.
- Provide support during the indirect tax software/vendor selection process.
- Document tax data requirements and implement automated indirect tax calculation and compliance solutions.
- Develop data analytics solutions focused on indirect tax.
- Support the implementation of global digital tax reporting solutions.
Education and Experience Information:
- Undergraduate emphasis in accounting with approximately 6 years of related work experience in indirect tax process improvement or equivalent experience in business or industry; or a master’s degree with approximately 4 years of related work experience preferred.
- Approved technical certification, CPA license, or membership to the state Bar, or progress towards attaining these credentials.
- Experience in indirect tax (Sales/Use Tax, VAT) and/or corporate indirect tax compliance is preferred.
- Excellent managerial, leadership, organizational, and communication skills.
- Ability to travel at least 50% of the time.
- Relevant experience in specialty areas such as indirect tax software products (Vertex, ONESOURCE, Avalara), ERP systems (SAP, Oracle), and procurement systems (Ariba, Coupa).
Salary Information:
- Competitive salary.
- Base salary range in the US is $124,200 to $227,800.
- Salary range for New York City Metro Area, Washington State, and California (excluding Sacramento) is $149,100 to $258,800.
- Individual salaries determined by factors including education, experience, knowledge, skills, and geography.
