Responsibilities and Qualifications

As a Litigation Assistant, you will be responsible for managing the day-to-day operations of the law firm, including administrative tasks and supporting the legal team. The ideal candidate will have a strong work ethic, exceptional problem-solving skills, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment. Specific responsibilities and qualifications include:

Responsibilities:

- Performing administrative duties, such as scheduling hearings and deadlines, organizing case files, and managing logistics
- Maintaining pleadings and discovery indexes
- Organizing exhibits, documents, evidence, briefs, and appendices
- Improving and implementing administrative processes for more efficient workflow
- Collecting, examining, and organizing evidence and other legal documents for attorney review and case preparation
- Drafting and proofreading correspondence and legal documents, such as pleadings and contracts
- Conducting research on regulations, laws, and legal articles to assist with the preparation of reports, case files, and legal advice
- Managing client billing, including preparing bills, resolving billing issues, and communicating with clients and witnesses
- Managing and organizing documents in paper or electronic filing systems

Qualifications:

- High school diploma or GED required
- Associates degree in paralegal studies, a paralegal certificate, or a bachelor's degree preferred
- Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred
- At least 2 years of experience as an administrative assistant, legal assistant, legal secretary, or paralegal (preferably in a law firm or corporate legal department)
- Experience in Personal Injury, WC, Premises, or other injury-related practice areas preferred
- Ability to multi-task, prioritize, and handle a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision
- Excellent written and communication skills, proficiency in scheduling depositions, mediations, and hearings
- Knowledge of motions, discovery, evidence, litigation documentation, court rules and procedures, etc.
- Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Strong writing and communication skills with attention to detail
- Extensive computer and database expertise, including Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and typing at least 35 wpm
